Ideal Patients for Lipid Clinic Referral

We best serve patients where “straightforward” therapy is not the main focus. Instead, we concentrate on more complex presentations such as:

  • Very high LDL / suspicion of familial hypercholesterolemia
  • High triglycerides or low HDL
  • Family history of dyslipidemia or premature CAD (coronary artery disease)
  • Requiring combination therapy
  • Very high risk (>20% 10 year CVD)
  • Resistant to prior therapy
  • Known CAD / vascular disease requiring further LDL lowering
  • Elevated Coronary Artery Calcium Score measured by CT
