About Vivek Goswami

Dr. Vivek Goswami is originally from Channahon, Illinois. He performed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his internship and residency at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois. After being awarded multiple research grants, he completed a cardiovascular research fellowship in clinical outcomes at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He then completed his clinical cardiovascular fellowship at the University of Missouri at Kansas City / Mid-America Heart Institute.

Dr. Goswami is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease (Cardiology), Nuclear Cardiology, Vascular Interpretation and Clinical Lipidology.

He currently serves as the Director of Nuclear Medicine for Austin Heart. He is also a clinical assistant professor at the Texas A&M Health Science Center. He serves on the Board of Directors and has recently been named President-Elect of the American Heart Association (Southwest Affiliate, Capital Area Division). He specializes in general cardiac and vascular care as well as cardiac imaging and preventative cardiology. He has published numerous book chapters and has had multiple TV and radio appearances on a diverse range of cardiac topics.
