Literature review and case report, “Stenting of a Fistulous, Expanding Saphenous Vein Graft Pseudoanurysm with a Jomed Covered Stent”

National Science Foundation Research Fellow 1994 - 1995
University of Michigan Medical School
I was awarded a competitive grant by the National Science Foundation to characterize and determine the function of the 5H7 proteoglycan that I previously discovered. Multiple structural and functional characterization methods were employed including: Western blotting, SDS PAGE, carbohydrate cleavage and analysis, membrane dialysis concentration techniques, immunoaffinity chromatography, histochemical and cytochemical staning techniques, and silver staining techniques.

Student Biomedical Research Fellow 1994
University of Michigan Medical School
I discovered a proteoglycan, 5H7, that contributes to apoptosis in the developing Drosophila melanogaster embryos. During this research project, I utilized and mastered a variety of tissue culture, immunological, and immunocytochemical staining techniques. These results were presented in a poster form at a research seminar sponsored by the University of Michigan Medical School.

Eagle Scout 1987
Troop 198
I earned the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America, culminating in a canned food drive which collected over 650 pounds of canned food for Gleaners Community Food Bank.
