Elissa Thompson, MD
Dr. Elissa Thompson is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease. She received dual undergraduate degrees in political science and French literature from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland and her medical doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. Dr. Thompson completed her residency training and fellowship in cardiovascular diseases at the Georgetown University Hospital and Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Thompson has a special interest in preventive cardiovascular health care and cardiac disease in women. She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, and the American Society of Echocardiography.
Dr. Thompson was profiled in the October 2008 issue of Redbook Magazine, and has been featured on the WUSA Channel 9 / Suburban Hospital public service announcement for the 2008 American Heart Association-Greater Washington Heart Walk.
